Paul Griffiths, Director

Founder and Business Acquisition Expert
Paul spent his early career in accountancy, followed by a 30 year career in headhunting which saw him establish his own business in 1994 and grow that brand into one which still exists today. Over the past 8 years, his time has been largely spent working with a variety of buyers including investors, high net worth individuals, trade acquirers and private equity firms.
It was during this period that Paul realised there was a gap in the market for a business which supports buyers to access data on businesses for sale “under one roof” and in particular, to support buyers who are struggling to generate credibility and traction in their search for a target business to purchase.
This led Paul to establish Valius Group, whose main aim is to champion the business buyer and support them with 2 main services – firstly, access to over 500 businesses consolidated from many different business sale agents and brokers and secondly, giving unrestricted access to a bank of knowledge offering around 60 insightful help guides, covering all aspects of the business purchase journey.

Andrew Botham, Director

Finance and Accounting Expert
All in all, 30 years in accountancy is a tough gig but somehow Andrew got through before escaping the profession in 2018. He was highly respected in the world of finance and ran (as CEO and majority shareholder) a hugely successful accountancy practice for 18 of those years and was recognised by national business groups and the accounting profession for helping to shape the future of how accountants support their clients. This included featuring in various local and national business publications providing advice about business growth and preparing businesses for sale.
Andrew’s belief from an early stage in his career was that business owners need support, mentoring and advice in both buying and running their businesses and in readying them for sale and he spent most of his latter years in practice providing several hundred of his clients with such services. In 2018 Andrew facilitated an MBO so his fellow partners could buy him out of his accountancy practice and finally releasing him to the wider business world. This allowed Andrew to help numerous small to medium sized businesses, both established and start-ups across the UK to grow much more quickly with Andrew’s support as both a co-Director and investor.
Andrew was approached by Paul to ensure Valius has the right people at the helm to support potential business owners on their new journey, whether they be new to business ownership or seasoned professionals with many businesses already under their belt. Andrew had previously worked with Paul in 2000 when Paul found the accountancy practice target for him to purchase. In championing the buyer, Valius provides a unique offering which encourages sellers to take private buyers more seriously in an industry where they are often overlooked or don’t get a proper chance to be considered as a credible option for many sellers of SME businesses.
Andrew’s appointment to the board means you are in safe hands as a member of the Valius community as his entire career as a leading accountant, director and investor has been built on trust, integrity and confidentiality.
